Biography: Son of John Jack; born Peterhead, 7 April 1896. Law, 1914-15, 1919-20. Private, 2/5th Gordon Highlanders, November 1914; commissioned, April 1915. Served - France, July 1915-March 1916, September-December 1916; India, April 1918-April 1919. Final rank, Captain. Mentioned in despatches, October 1915.
