Lieutenant 2/4th Gordon Highlanders, 2 October 1914; attached 4th Gordon Highlanders, 5th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Served-Home, 1914-16, 1916-17; France, February-July 1916; Palestine (Administration of Enemy Territory), November 1917-February 1919. Final rank, Captain.
