Biography: Son of Adam Gray; born Daviot, Aberdeenshire, 1 March 1886. M.B., 1909; M.D., 1912. Private, 1st Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders, 1904. Lieutenant R.A.M.C., 12 October 1914; attached to 9th S. Lancs.; 5th King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Served-Home, October 1914-May 1915; France, Belgium, Germany, May 1915-March 1919. Final rank, Acting Major. Mentioned in despatches, April 1918.
