Biography: Son of Alexander D. Grant; born Singapore, 22 October 1894. M.A., 1915. Cadet, 2nd Artists' Rifles, 28th London Regiment, 26th January 1916; commissioned, 4 September 1916; attached to 3rd and 10th Highland Light Infantry. Served-Home, January-October 1916; France, October 1916-February 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant. Military Cross, January 1918. Croix de Guerre with gold star, August 1918.
