Biography: Son of James R. Grant; born Fraserburgh, 23 November 1882. M.B., 1906. Commissioned, R.A.M.C., 1907. Served-Burma, 1914; Trooping duties, India, Mesopotamia, 1915-19; South Kurdistan Field Force, 1919. Final rank, Acting Lieutenant-Colonel.
