Biography: Son of James L. Geddes; born Bieldside, Aberdeen, 28 June 1895. M.A. (Ill Class), 1915. 2nd Lieutenant, 3rd Gordon Highlanders, 10 April 1915; attached to 4th, 8/10th, 5th, Gordon Highlanders Served- Home, April-August 1915; France, Belgium, August 1915-April 1919. Final rank, Captain. D.S.O., August 1917. Chevalier Legion d'Honneur and Croix de Guerre (Palms), August 1918. Three mentions in despatches, January 1916, 1918, 1919.
