Fiddes, John Douglas

Biography: Son of John Fiddes; born Aberdeen, 6 April 1884. M.A., 1905; B.Sc. (dist.), 1907; M.B., 1909. Enlisted, R.A.M.C. (Territorial Force), 1902; commissioned 1909. Mobilized. Attached to 89th Field Ambulance, 2/3rd West Riding Field Ambulance. Served-Home, Egypt, Gallipoli, France, Belgium, Germany, 4 August 1914-March 1919. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. M.C., February 1918. Bar to M.C., July 1918; Belgian Croix de Guerre, October 1918. Mentioned in despatches, January 1918.
