Biography: Son of Alexander Farquhar; born Guthrie, 7 November 1860. M.A., 1879; B.D. (Ed.), 1882. Previously Chaplain to Territorials and Regulars. Commissioned, Chaplain to the Forces, Royal Army Chaplains' Department, August 1914. Home service, 1914-19. Final rank, Chaplain to the Forces. M.B.E., 1919.
