Biography: Son of George Ewen; born Methlick, 8 December 1872. M.A., 1899; B.Sc. 1906; B.D (Ed.), 1914. Private, 2nd Volunteer Battalion Gordon Highlanders, 1889; commissioned, Royal Army Chaplains Department, December 1916; attached to 9th Seaforth Highlanders. Served-France, 1916-17; Home (National Reserve), 1917-18. Final rank, Captain.
