Biography: Son of William E. Entwistle; born Auhwei, China, 7 December 1895. M.A. (I Class, distinction), 1916; Fullerton Scholar; Jenkyns, Simpson Greek, Prizes; Seafield, Town’s, Medals. Attested, January 1916; joined, April 1916. Gunner, Royal Field Artillery. Served with Scottish Rifles; Royal Field Artillery, O.T.C. Served-Home, April-November 1916; France, December 1916-February 1917; Home, February 1917- January 1919. Discharged unfit. Final rank, Acting Corporal.
