Biography: Son of John F. Ellis; born Phillack, Cornwall, 22 August 1871. M.B., 1896; M.D., 1901. Commissioned. R.A.M.C. (Territorial), 1909. Mobilized as Major, 4 August 1914. Attached to 46th Casualty Clearing Station. Served-Home, 1914-16; France, Belgium, 1916-19. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. C.M.G. Two mentions, November 1917, March 1919.
