Biography: Son of Alexander Crawford; born Rathven, Banffshire, 13 May 1879. M.A., 1901 ; B.Sc. (Agr.), 1906. Driver, South African Service Corps (M. T.), 12 July 1916. Served-German, Portuguese, East Africa, August 1916-March 1919. Final rank, Sergeant.
