Biography: Son of James E. Coward; born Middleburg, South Africa, 26 August 1861. M.B., 1886. Joined R.A.M.C, 1 September 1915. Home service, Huddersfield District, 4ΒΌ years. Final rank, Lieutenant-Colonel. Two mentions in despatches, February 1917, August 1919.
