Forbes, William, of Tolquhone

Biography

7th Laird of Tolquhon, Aberdeenshire.



From Provenance Catalogue: The seventh laird, William succeeded his father in 1547. He added considerably to his patrimony, extending the castle greatly from 1584-9. At Tarves he endowed a hospital. A great book collector, he amassed a fine library which he valued greatly. He died before 1596.
