Irving, Robert

Biography

Brother of Alexander. With his brother, he was among those who seized several Aberdeen burgesses to force the marquess of Huntly into leading an uprising. For this they faced excommunication and arrest, so they sailed from Fraserburgh to Caithness. Unfortunately they were arrested there and sent to the Tolbooth in Edinburgh, where Robert died in 1645.
