Biography
Physician and poet. Born Warwickshire. Probably the Edward Lapworth who matriculated Exeter Coll., Oxford, 1589. Admitted B.A., from St Alban's Hall, 1592, M.A., 1595. Master of Magdalen College School, 1598-1610. Supplicated for the degree of M.B., and license to practice medicine 1603. Licensed 1605, and admitted B.M. and D.M. 1611. "Moderator in vesperiis" in medicine in 1605 and 1611. Seems to have been practising in Faversham, Kent in 1617 and 1619. First Sedleian reader in natural philosophy at Oxford 1618. Appointed Linacre physic lecturer 1619. Contributed verses to a variety of books. Died Bath, 1636.
