Clearing is part of the UCAS application system and another opportunity for some students to apply for a place a University.
Whether your results are not as you expected, or you have changed your mind, Clearing gives you another chance to find a course to suit you.
When you have received your exam results, we will be delighted to talk to you about your options and we can make decisions within 60 seconds of receiving your details. Before your results are available, you can look at your options by reviewing the list of available programmes and researching the university and area to which you may move in September.
Information for Parents and Teachers
Clearing can be a stressful time for students but it’s worth noting that this is a normal part of the admissions process and thousands of students are going through the same thing. The best advice to give a student is to be positive and to be prepared.
Research options by reviewing university websites, focusing on programme content, career prospects, student life and accommodation.
As a parent, carer or teacher, you can ask as many questions of universities and bodies such as UCAS, as you like. Most universities will have a dedicated Clearing section on their website and will cover available programmes and student life information.
For information on the University of Aberdeen’s Clearing opportunities, visit Our Programmes, and read more about Aberdeen in the Why Aberdeen? section. You can sign up for our parents, carers and teachers emails which will tell you more about the area, details about the University and additional information on accommodation and student life, including cost of living.
