Co-operatives UK has published a document outlining thethemes it wishes to explore during the International Year of Co-operatives(IYC) 2012. It has identified four key messages that will be conveyed indifferent periods during the year:
January - March: localimpact on a global scale
April - June: co-operatives share
July - September:owned by everyday people
October - December:co-operativesare bubbling up everywhere
The themes are part of one of Co-operatives UK's coreobjectives, which is to enable the UK co-operative movement to act as oneentity, strengthening the messages of the IYC. They do provide a usefulframework for individual co-operative enterprises/organisations to conducttheir own marketing initiatives and projects but needn't force organisations todeviate from events and messages already planned.
