Who is responsible for Equality and Diversity?

University Court

The University Court is charged, at the highest level, with ensuring that our legal obligations are met.

Vice Principal with responsibility for Equal Opportunities

The Vice Principal has a responsibility to chair the Joint Committee on Equal Opportunities and contributes to ensuring that our legal obligations are met and that action is being taken to mainstream equalities in the culture.

Equal Opportunities Officer

The Equal Opportunities Officer was appointed to raise awareness of equalities issues, contribute to making sure the University meets its legal obligations.

Disability Officer

The Student Support Officer / Disability Adviser has a responsibility for ensuring that students who require adjustments in order to get the most out of their University experience get the assistance they require.

All Staff

All staff are required to be aware of the legislation and the Equal Opportunities Policy. A breach of the legislation or the policy could result in disciplinary action. All staff are required to treat colleagues and students with respect.

All Students

All students are required to treat each other and staff with respect.
