Hymn , O Maria stella maris.

A hymn to the Virgin Mary (AH, 32, pp 153-4). The author invokes her as the star of the sea and by other titles, asking her to protect and help us. He invokes Jesus Christ and asks that through the prayers of his mother we may be cleansed of our sins and granted a pure life, peace and salvation. He asks the Virgin, as mother of God and daughter of him whom she bore, the only-begotten of the Father, purified and prepared by the Spirit [to bear Christ], to intercede for our sins, that we may repent and weep for them ...
