Prayer, Ecclesiam tuam quesumus.


A prayer to God (folio 257r; MR, 1, p 23). The author asks for the church to be enlightened by the teaching of St John the Evangelist and so attain to eternal joy.


Ecclesiam tuam quesumus domine benignus illustra ut\ beati Iohannis apostoli tui et evvangeliste\ illuminata doctrinis ad bona perveniat sempi\terna. Per eundem Christum.\


Prayer, Ecce ac beate.


A prayer to St John the Evangelist. The author asks that he should die well, strong in faith, perfect in love, sound in mind, whole in the senses, after confession and absolution.


Ecce ac beate Iohannes apostole et evvange\lista dei qui virgo es electus a domino\ atque inter ceteros magis dilectus impetra michi donum\ a domino quod tibi concessum est ut habeam finem bonum\ et preclarum et fineam [finiam] vitam meam in fide rec\ta in spe firma, in caritate perfecta, in intellectu\ sano, senso integro et vera confessione sa\lutis communitus viatico et extrema delibutus\ unctione in scicienti [sitienti] desiderio videndi desiderabi\lem faciem domini nostri Ihesu Christi. Amen.
