Support the Garden

The Cruickshank Botanic Garden is an internationally important collection of plants, a valuable educational resource, and part of the heritage of the University and City of Aberdeen. It is open to the public, free of charge, and dedicated to understanding and conserving our natural world.

Support for the Garden is more important than ever. Help us continue to care for this special place, so that we can offer education about our natural world for students of all ages, and a beautiful garden for all to enjoy.

There are many ways you can support the Garden - from making an online donation today or becoming a Friend of the Garden, to making a bequest. Any support, large or small, will have a real impact on the future of the Garden. Please follow the links below to learn more about how you can help.

Join the Friends of the Cruickshank Botanic Garden and enjoy the company of fellow garden lovers and the programme of lectures and visits, or get involved with their fund-raising activities. The Friends support the Garden by volunteering, by providing money to buy plants and build up the collection, and most importantly by funding the annual Horticultural Bursary, which both provides much needed help to maintain the Garden and gives a new horticultural graduate a chance to gain experience of botanical horticulture.

The Friends are a registered Scottish Charity, so all gifts are tax-exempt. If you would like to make a one-off donation to the Friends, or to make a legacy gift, please contact:

Give to the University of Aberdeen Development Trust. All gifts to the Garden made through the Development Trust are ring-fenced to support the Garden, and will be used to ensure that the Gardens are properly cared for, through maintaining staffing levels, to purchase garden equipment, or for specific development projects.

There are many ways to give. You can donate online, and your gift can be made as a single donation or spread monthly or annually over a period of years. There are many options for giving, and because the University has charitable status, using Gift Aid and other tax advantages means that you can increase the value of your gift at no extra cost to yourself.

Please contact our Development Team with any queries, and for expert and confidential advice.
