Conversations with Scottish Poets, by Marco Fazzini, published May 2015, AUP
For nearly twenty years Marco Fazzini, editor of Alba Literaria: A History of Scottish Literature (2005) and Crossings: Essays on Contemporary Scottish Literature and Hybridity (2000), and translator of much modern Scottish poetry, has been visiting poets in Scotland and conducting interviews with them.
Conversations with Scottish Poets gathers these interviews together for the first time, and puts major figures of twentieth-century Scottish poetry like Norman MacCaig, Sorley Maclean and Edwin Morgan in conversation with those they influenced, such as Valerie Gillies and Christopher Whyte, and a wide range of contemporary Scottish poets. Their responses provide fascinating insights into the development of poetry in modern Scotland.
