Halloween traditions have been part of our lives for generations. Do you carve neepie lanterns or pumpkins? Dook for apples? Go guising or trick-or-treating from house to house?
People have been guising, building bonfires, and marking the old Celtic New Year for longer than anyone knows. These are important occasions for individuals, for families, and for communities. They have deep roots in our culture.
Join Dr Tom McKean of the University's Elphinstone Institute to explore the origins of Halloween, from ghosts and the souls of the dead to disguise and the rise of limitless sweeties.
Tickets are £5 per person and include tea, coffee, and biscuits.
