As part of the Special Collections summer exhibition "Cooking The Books", the Special Collections and National Library of Scotland will be leading a workshop inspired by the evocative nature of remembered and favourite recipes. Attendees will be given a private tour of the exhibition and see inside some of the cookery books from the 18th and 19th Century that are part of the display, including Matilda Lees Dods’ miniature cookery book which measures just a few centimetres in size but contains over 800 pages of recipes. The practical part of the workshop will be learning how to bind your own miniature recipe book featuring replicas of recipes and illustrations from Matilda Lees Dods ‘Handbook of Practical Cookery’. Please bring a favourite recipe with you to share on the day!
