Biography
Smriti graduated from Calcutta medical college, India in 2000 and completed her postgraduate master’s degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) from the same institution in 2003. After relocating to UK in 2005, she achieved membership of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (MRCOG) in 2007, completed clinical specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and been awarded the Fellowship of the RCOG recently. Smriti works as a Senior clinician in the Aberdeen Fertility Centre. She is a core member of the fertility and assisted conception services and is responsible for dealing with clinical care of the patients, training staff and junior colleagues and ensuring provision of an evidence based, safe and clinically effective service.Smriti supports the research projects carried out within the centre and has supervised a MSc research student. Besides her clinical role, her academic interest lies in Medical education. She was awarded the Fellowship of the higher education academy in 2020 and has taken on the role of Deputy Lead for Assessment (Healthcare programme).
