We are obliged by new governance legislation in Scotland to adopt a new process for the appointment of our next Senior Governor. The first phase of the process, which is similar to a staff recruitment process has now concluded. In accordance with the legislation, those who applied in response to the advertisement and who were assessed by the Court’s Appointment Committee as meeting the criteria for the role, were interviewed.

Following interviews, those who were confirmed as meeting the criteria are then entitled to stand for election by students, staff and members of the Court.

Applications closed on Friday 25 January 2019 at Noon. Applicants were required to submit a CV and covering letter, and an application form and equalities monitoring form through our executive search consultants, Saxton Bampfylde.

While staff and students are not eligible for the role, suggestions of potential candidates who might have the skills and experience to lead our Court were invited to be forwarded to our executive search consultants Saxton Bampfylde by Friday 11 January 2019.

Interview

Those who applied in response to the advertisement and who met the criteria were interviewed during the week of 11 February 2019.

Election

Following interview, those who were confirmed as meeting the criteria are entitled to stand for election by students, staff and members of the Court. The election will take place during Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 March 2019.
