Opportunities for Aspiring Governors - Governance Apprenticeship Programme
Do you have an interest in developing your non-executive director, governor or charity trustee experience? Are you a member of the University’s staff community, alumni community or have a lived experience of the equality groups? Then you may be interested in a new opportunity to join the University Court (governing body) as a ‘shadow member’ and to develop early experience of working in a board environment.
The University is participating in the Governance Apprenticeship Programme (read more here) which is operated by Perrett Laver. The initiative aims to help address one of the barriers to improving board diversity, being the limited pipeline of individuals from underrepresented backgrounds with the required board level experience. The Programme provides the opportunity for one individual to shadow the Court for a year, offering the skills, insights, and networks, that can build a solid foundation for future board roles.
How to Apply
The closing date for applications is 9am (BST) on Monday 4 July 2022. To apply you will need to first register for the Governance Apprenticeship Programme via www.diversitygap.co.uk Further information on the opportunity and how to apply is available via Perrett Laver here.
