Professor Richard Wells is Vice-Principal International Partnerships, with responsibility for implementing the University’s Internationalisation Strategy, developing and overseeing its Transnational Education projects and ensuring co-ordination of activities across the Schools.

Professor Wells studied Chemistry at the University of Birmingham before completing a PhD at the University of Dundee. Prior to his appointment as lecturer in Aberdeen in 2001 he worked at the Universities of Liverpool and Cardiff where his research interests focussed around surface chemistry and catalysis. He served as Dean for Middle Eastern and South East Asian Affairs and Dean for Transnational Education before his appointment as Vice-Principal.
