Returning to campus and guidance on meeting times

Returning to campus and guidance on meeting times

Ezine update to staff - 14 October

Dear colleagues,

Three weeks into teaching and it’s great to see more of our students and staff back on campus. As more staff return to the office over the next two or three weeks here are some, hopefully helpful, reminders.

Next month - when Aberdeen City and Shire school holidays are over - is when Directorates have planned for our Professional Services staff to be back in the office - whether that be full-time or as part of agreed hybrid working arrangements.

Many of our academic staff are already back and of course some of our frontline staff have worked on campus throughout the pandemic.

Parking

You can pay daily or annually for parking at Old Aberdeen and Foresterhill and arrangements can be seen here on how to organise that.

Meetings

Given our mix of in-person and online activities, staff are reminded to arrange meetings to begin five minutes later than the usual starting time and ending five minutes earlier e.g. beginning at 3.05pm and finishing at 3.55pm. This is in line with our previous workload reduction arrangements and will hopefully prevent staff from having to rush between online and in-person meetings.

Testing

As a reminder, lateral flow tests should be taken twice per week - three days apart - to help keep our community safe and to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Free and regular lateral flow testing is available to all our staff and students who do not have symptoms of Covid-19 at our Community Test Centre on University Road. Alternatively, test kits can also be picked up from the centre and taken at home. Kits can also be ordered directly from the Scottish Government website.

Stay cosy

Don’t forget to take some extra layers into the office because the mix of ventilation and open windows may make building temperatures slightly more unpredictable.

Best wishes,

Debbie
