The panels tell you about each of the maps and show profiles and sketches from the geologists notebooks. You can use these to find out how the geologists developed understanding of mountain tectonics, linking scientific knowledge to its place in the landscape. You will also discover how Victorian society influenced the geologists, how they were paid and what base maps they had to work on. In doing so, you will discover why the Northwest Highlands are Scotland's first Geopark. |
