Steffen Staab

Bio: Steffen Staab is professor for databases and information systems at the University of Koblenz-Landau, leading the research group on Information Systems and Semantic Web (ISWeb). His interests lie in researching core technology for ontologies and semantic web as well as in applied research for exploiting these technologies for knowledge management, multimedia and software technology. He has participated in numerous national, European and intercontinental research projects on these different subjects and his research has led to over 100 refereed contributions in journals and conferences. Dr. Staab held positions as researcher, project leader and lecturer at the University of Freiburg, the University of Stuttgart/Fraunhofer Institute IAO, and the University of Karlsruhe and he is a co-founder of Ontoprise GmbH. Daniel Oberle

Daniel Oberle

Bio: Daniel Oberle received his PhD from the University of Karlsruhe (Germany), Institute AIFB, Prof. Studer's group, in 2005. His thesis discussed the application of Semantic Web technologies (ontologies, reasoning) in current middleware solutions, such as application servers and Web services, to facilitate the daily tasks of developers and administrators. Daniel (co)authored over 40 refereed publications in selected workshops, conferences and journals. He is working at SAP Research CEC Karlsruhe March 2006 and is responsible for the topic of ontologies & reasoning.


Harald Kühn

Bio: Dr. Harald Kühn is a member of the management board of BOC Information Technologies Consulting AG. He is responsible for the development of BOC's products, the underlying platforms, and their technical support. In addition, he works actively in the research of IT-supported management approaches, metamodelling, interoperability, and model driven business engineering. Dr. Kühn published various articles in these fields, held lectures at the University of Vienna (Austria) and Ecole des Mines, St-Etienne (France), and participated in EU projects such as PROMOTE, INTEROP, GENESIS, and MOST.
