Human Neuroanatomy (AN3003, 3 credits)

There is currently much interest and excitement in the anatomical organisation of the brain, and the way in which nerve cell pathways interact to produce given behaviours such as emotions and desires, and capabilities such as sensation and awareness. Topics such as these are introduced in lectures on neuroanatomy. There is an emphasis on functional aspects of brain organisation, in order that function can be appreciated as a result of the 3-D architecture of the brain. In addition, there is an introduction to brain dysfunction, with examples of clinically-relevant neuroanatomy. The course consists of 2 lectures per week, and is examined by a 2-hour written exam.

Pre-requisite : AN2001

Course Organiser : Dr. Mike Moore (ext. 3094)
