Let’s get more personal…
|
|
When not sitting in front of my computer trying
(hopelessly many times) to run regressions, I indulge in my hobbies (more
like passions to me…). |
|
♦
Koi: I recently “inherited” an outdoor pond and
gradually becoming an avid koi keeper. So far I am the
proud owner of two Kois, three Shubunkins,
five golden Orfes and four Comet Goldfishes. (They
all managed to survive the freezing winter in Aberdeen!) |
|
♦
Philatelism: My family passed on me the “bug” of collecting
stamps! My current collection focuses mainly on Greek stamps, and anything
that has to do with comics/cartoons. |
|
♦
Comics: Since I was a little boy, I developed a true
passion for comics. Some of my favourite artists among others are Hugo Pratt (the creator of Corto Malteze), Enki Bilal (how prophetic is his work…), Quino
(everybody must have read Mafalda’s moral dilemmas)
and Arkas (a
Greek artist!). |
|
♦
Photography: From my early university years in Athens I
became quite interested in photography. During the early years of “discovery”
I tested my friends’ patience trying to find the right aperture and speed for
my photos… So far though I haven’t mastered the art of capturing the decisive
moment, ‘the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the
significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which
gives that event its proper expression’ as Cartier-Bresson tersely
defined it. |
