Let’s get more personal…

Alexandros, when not sitting in front of his computer trying (hopelessly many times) to run regressions, indulges in his hobbies (passions more likely…).

Philatelism: His family passed on him the “bug” of collecting stamps! His current collection focuses mainly on Greek stamps, and anything that has to do with comics/cartoons.

Comics: Since he was a little boy, he developed a true passion for comics. Some of his favourite artists among others are Hugo Pratt (the creator of Corto Malteze), Enki Bilal (how prophetic is his work…), Quino (everybody must have read Mafalda’s moral dilemmas) and Arkas (a Greek artist!).

Photography: From his early university years in Athens he became quite interested in photography. During the early years of “discovery” he tested his friends’ patience trying to find the right aperture and speed for his photos… So far though he hasn’t mastered the art of capturing the decisive moment, ‘the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which gives that event its proper expression’ as Cartier-Bresson tersely defined it.
