Conference aims : This meeting is the ninth of a series of symposia held ever five years since 1960 with the most recent in Cambridge in 1996. The ninth symposium will consider occupational and environmental exposure to particles, gases and vapours, integrating findings from basic mechanisms to the epidemiological on human health.

Venue information: Robinson College, the University's newest college was opened in 1980, and was planned with the needs of conferences very much in mind. The College building is set in several acres of woodland gardens, only a few minutes walk from the centre of Cambridge and the famous "Backs". It was the highly successful venue for the 1996 Inhaled Particles symposium. The residential accommodation and dining arrangements in Robinson College are of a very high standard. Accommodation at Robinson College may be booked only through the conference organisers. Cambridge is within easy reach of London, Heathrow and Stansted airports, with good road, rail and bus connections to other parts of the UK. Cambridge is one of the most beautiful towns in England and offers many attractions including guided tuors of the Colleges, the Arts Theatre, cinemas, frequent concerts, a sports hall, swimming pool, parks, excellent shops and and attractive open market.
