250 species This groups body plan is long vermiform, cylindrical or compressed. The shell is absent, and they have a rudimentary mantle cavity, and no flattened foot but a "pedal groove". Many of the typical molluscan characters are absent from this group. They are found primarily below 200m depth and are abundant in deep-sea epifauna or infauna. Many reside and feed upon cnidarians. |
