Crustaceans of this large group are found in many habitats and are very varied in appearance. The body is usually divided into a trunk composed of eight segments and an abdomen of six, each segment bearing appendages. Some species are only 0.5mm long, while the japanese spider crab Macrocheira kaempferi has a 3.3m limb span and is the largest living arthropod.
