1 species: Amia calva: Found in North American rivers and swamps. It has a long, arching, spineless dorsal fin. Males make nests of aquatic plants in which the eggs incubate. They gaurd the nests and young fish after they hatch. Bowfins prey on fish and invertebrates. |
