Haemophilus spp. analysed by 2D Electrophoresis

One of the major objectives for developing the current 2D protein database of Haemophilus is to define the proteome of members of the Haemophilus genus. In order to achieve this goal the proteins of representative isolates of the different species comprising the genus have been compared by 2D-PAGE. The information presented below describes the origins of the isolates analysed to date.

Haemophilus spp. isolates analysed by 2D-PAGE

HI-64443 Non-typable H. influenzae isolate used as the reference strain for the 2D database. This isolate was originally isolated in Aberdeen.
H. influenzae Strain Rd Capsulate deficient type d H. influenzae isolate. used as the type isolate for the determination of the genome sequence. This isolate was provided by Prof. Simon Kroll.
H. influenzae Strain Eagan Type b isolate of H. influenzae widely used as a type strain for H. influenzae. This isolate was provided by Prof. Simon Kroll.
H. parainfluenzae (Aberdeen) Type strain (number 7857) obtained from the UK Type Culture Collection
H. haemolyticus Type strain (number 10659) obtained from the UK Type Culture Collection
H. parahaemolyticus Type strain (number 8477) obtained from the UK Type Culture Collection
H. parainfluenzae (Strain 1391) Isolate provided by Prof. Simon Kroll.
