County of Funen
The County of Funen is situated in the central, southern part of Denmark.
The County of Funen covers 3486 km2, corresponding to about 349000 hectares, which constitute about 8% of Denmark’s total area. The County numbers 22 permanently inhabited islands and has a population density of 135 inhabitants per km2. The County of Funen is one of the most densely populated areas of Denmark outside the capital region.
