My central research interests are Multi-Agent Systems, with a focus on the formation of virtual organisations based on social norms and contracts. The goal is to understand how the normative position of an agent within its social context influences its practical reasoning. Specific interests in this context are the modelling of social norms and their influence within an agent society, the modelling of agents that are able to take such social norms into account in their practical reasoning, the modelling of virtual organisations, the detection and resolution of norm conflicts during organisational change, and the management and policing of realistic contracts within agent societies.
