Timothy J Norman

I am one of ten co-investigators on this major project funded by the UK Research Councils in interdisciplinary research in the Digital Economy. This project represents the largest single investment by the UK Research Councils to the University. I lead the autonomous agents and services research including trust and information security, and am involved in the following sub-projects:

• Flexible Integrated Transport Systems (FITS), with John Nelson, John Farrington, Tim Barmby, Nir Oren and Nico Rotstein.
• Agent and Semantic Support for Rural Enterprise (ASSURE), with Claire Wallace, Alison Smart, Jeff Z. Pan, Katia Sycara, Nico Rotstein and Chris Burnett.

I lead the ITA research project at Aberdeen. During the period May 2011 to May 2013 of this unique 10-year international research programme we are investigating:

• Information Fusion in Coalition Operations under Data Obfuscation and Variable Trust, with Nir Oren and Chris Burnett. In collaboration with Mani Srivastava (UCLA), Chatschik Bisdikian (IBM, T J Watson), Chris Gibson (IBM, Hursley) and Simon Parsons (CUNY).
• Querying Over Distributed Coalition Data Network in Support of Decision Making, with Jeff Z. Pan and Murat Sensoy. In collaboration with Katia Sycara (CMU), Achille Fokoue (IBM, T J Watson) and Mudhakar Srivatsa (IBM, T J Watson).

TRUMP: A Trusted Mobile Platform for the Self-Management of Chronic Illness in Rural Areas

I am co-investigator on this important international project jointly funded by UK (EPSRC) and Indian (DST) Government agencies. The goal of the TRUMP project is to explore the potential of mobile technologies in the development of a platform to support chronic disease management by simultaneously considering the needs of rural areas of India and the UK.
