Preface

The content of this programme reflects the exposure to histology given to Phase 1 MBChB students at the University of Aberdeen. The content is essentially the same as the various components presented in Anatomy practical classes: the minimal variation is to avoid some duplication of material that was necessary for the smooth presentation in classwork.

This review ofhistology is not comprehensive and does not pretend to be a histology "course" as such. It has been generated at the request of students to provide an opportunity to revisit class material and in the absence of a histology textbook/atlas at a sufficiently simple level. It fits the requirements of the students in the medical curriculum, if not their needs.
