The AUSAC is a special branch of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC), which is primarily open to University Staff and Students, although some outside members are permitted as external coaches. The club recruits new divers every October and February, through
a series of Try Dives, with the capacity to train around 20 new divers each year. The club is run by students, for students, and all training is carried out by qualified instructors, all of whom are volunteers.
If you've ever thought about learning to dive, or are already a trained diver and are interested in diving with us, please
just have a browse over this site and come down to the pool to meet us, or contact one of the committee to see what's going on. Even if you trained under an organisation other than BSAC, you can still join as we will give you the equivalent BSAC diver grade. There's more information in the training pages.
We try to make diving available on a regular basis, and members are active all year round when weather permits, for some of the cheapest diving available, ideal for the student budget! All trips trips are advertised on the Mailing list and/or on the trips page. The club has a large amount of equipment, including 15 BCD's, 19 regulators, 25 tanks, 2 oxygen kits a 5.5m Humber RIB and its own compressor, all of which is maintained for the benefit of club members.
