Professor Sir John Struthers - anatomist and zoologist

The fabulous skeletons that now reside in our Zoology Museum, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, camel, giraffe, tapir, chimpanzee, gorillas, several whales, elephant and 15 foot long crocodile, are largely the work of Sir John Struthers.

Here you can read more about the life and times of this most interesting of men, early supporter of Darwin, human anatomist, whale dissector, progressive educationalist. You can also download a recent paper from The Surgeon on his life and works in WORD.doc or Adobe.pdf format.
