Exhibitions
The Zoology Museum holds a huge collection of objects. This theme presents objects, or groups of related objects, as virtual exhibitions where we can show things in close-up together with a detailed interpretation of their importance and meaning.
Currently we have four exhibitions online:
The Art of the Model Maker highlights a selection of some wonderful model oganisms
The Zoology of Professor Struthers tells the story of the man who prepared many of our large mammal skeletons and who had a life-long love affair with the cetaceans
The Royal Penguin Egg tells a story of Antarctic exploration and World War 1 heroism.
Animals named after Aberdeen Zoologists honours those Aberdeen staff and alumni who have had animals named after them as a mark of respect for their contribution to zoological science.
Historic Arctic Expeditions presents photographs from expeditions to the Arctic involving members of Aberdeen staff.
