Music programme for this year's festival announced

Trad bands, opera, and local bands performing live at Word

We're delighted to announce that Scottish Opera will be bringing their portable project, 'Little Bit of Rigoletto' to Word this year - done in the Kamisibai style of Japanese storytelling, these free 20 minute versions of operas feature a harpist, cellist, storyteller, and singer and promise to be a fantastic (and free!) event.

Keep an eye for them at 3pm on Friday, Elphinstone Hall

In partnership with Scottish Culture and Traditions, Word presents daily music performances by some of Aberdeen's leading traditional musicians in the Word Café, Elphinstone Hall, where you'll be able to enjoy the live music with a post-event cuppa or glass of wine.

5pm - 6.30pm, Friday - Sunday, Word Cafe in Elphinstone Hall:

Friday - Yousedancin'
Saturday - Danse McCabre
Sunday - Straefoot

New addition to the music programme:

Friday 7pm & Sunday 1pm - Moonbow in Elphinstone Hall
