Which service should I use?
- The recommended default wireless service for all staff and students is eduroam.
- Students should use ResNet to enjoy a room-level service within the Halls of Residence at Hillhead, Crombie Johnston, Elphinstone Road. When on campus, students should use eduroam.
Note: ResNet is also available as a wired service in Hillhead's New Carnegie Court, Fyfe, Wavell, and Adam Smith halls (Aberdeen) and the Halls of Residence at Raigmore Hospital (Inverness).
Eduroam is also available as a wired service at assigned desks within the new Library (September 2011). - Visitors who have been issued a University Guest account can use guestweb (quick and easy to connect, no configuration required, internet access only, unsecure) or Eduroam (secure, requires user to configure their laptop).

About Wireless Help
If your laptop is connected to the wireless-help network, you will only be able to connect to web pages on the Aberdeen University web site (i.e. whose addresses start with www.abdn.ac.uk). You will not be allowed to access the wider internet, apart from the web pages of the companies listed on the manufacturers page. Those pages are permitted, to allow you to download updated software or drivers.
