Automatically configure wireless connection

For Windows 7, Vista and XP, Mac OSX 10.4+ and iOS, Ubuntu, and Android devices*

Click on the link below to launch the setup Wizard, then follow the simple onscreen instructions. The autoconfig tool will automatically detect your OS and send the correct configuration to your device.

Automatic configuration

If you have any difficulty using automatic configuration, contact the Service Desk. Alternatively, you can manually configure your laptop/PC instead - follow the guidelines for your OS, see below.

iPhone/iPad users - known issue with iOS

If you have a problem accessing external websites after running the automatic configuration - a known issue with iOS - carry out the following steps:

Open Settings -> Wi-Fi to view a list of available networks.
Tap on the > symbol to the right of Eduroam (or ResNet).
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and change HTTP Proxy from Auto to Off, and then back to Auto again.
The URL http://www.abdn.ac.uk/local/autoproxy.php should already be configured.
Tap the Home button to finish.

*Note: UoA corporate configuration is Windows OS only. Wired Eduroam/ResNet - all OS except iOs and Android.

Configure a wired ResNet/Eduroam connection

ResNet is also available as a wired service in Hillhead's New Carnegie Court, Fyfe, Wavell, and Adam Smith halls (Aberdeen) and the Halls of Residence at Raigmore Hospital (Inverness).

Eduroam is also available as a wired service at assigned desks within the new Library (September 2011).
