Social Programme

Registration and Lunch:

Registration will be open from 12 noon and the registration desk will be ‘manned’ throughout the rest of the conference. Please come and register and pick up your delegate pack, and say hello. We will also be happy to help you with any questions you have throughout the three days.

Conference Bar, the Hub:

The conference bar will be situated in the Hub, and will be open on the evenings of 12 and 13 September from 18.00 until 12 midnight. The Hub provides a relaxed atmosphere where you can catch up with colleagues and discuss the days’ events.

Evening Meal, Elphinstone Hall:

A evening meal is provided on the 12 September from 19.30

SAGE Complementary Drinks:

SAGE Publishers invite you to join them on their stand for a drink from 18.30 on 13 September

Conference Dinner and Ceilidh:

The social highlight! Come and join us for the Gala Dinner and traditional Scottish Ceilidh, music will be provided by local band Iron Broo.

Doors Open

When: Each weekend in September 2007 Where: Venues across Scotland

Every weekend in September you can take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to discover Scotland's hidden heritage. Doors Open Days offer the chance to explore some of Scotland's most interesting buildings of every kind and age, all free of charge! At some you can enjoy a tour, live music or exhibition - or just look around at your own pace. Other sites offer special activities for children and young people. Each year the event grows, with thousands more people taking part. Doors Open Days form Scotland's contribution to European Heritage Days.

Scottish Food Fortnight 2007

When: 1st - 16th September 2007 Where: Across Scotland

Scottish Food Fortnight is a harvest-time celebration of all that is good about Scottish food and drink. Shops, hotels, restaurants, schools, Farmers Markets and many others will be taking part in the national celebration of the vast array of wonderful, fresh, seasonal produce that is available from our Scottish countryside.

The Scottish Geology Festival is the annual celebration of the nation's fantastic geological heritage.Typical events include geological walks and talks, gold- and silver panning, rock and fossil identification 'surgeries', mine and quarry visits, and building stone walks.
